Our Story on the Big Screen

At Art Screen Events, we’re passionate about the art of storytelling.

Our mission is to bring unique stories to the big screen, giving each one its moment to shine. Every film and event we curate has a heartbeat of its own—designed to captivate audiences and showcase perspectives from around the world.

Founded by Katrine Elliott, a proud recipient of the 2024 Natalie Miller Fellowship, Art Screen Events was created from her love of alternative films and independent storytelling.

With over 25 years of experience in the industry, Katrine’s goal is simple: to curate extraordinary films and events for Tasmanian audiences. “There’s never been a more important time to celebrate independent voices,” she says. “We want each story to have its own platform, a special event to connect with audiences in meaningful ways.”

One of our highlights is screening National Theatre Live, where we bring the best of theatre from London’s West End straight to Tasmania’s big screens. It’s a unique way to experience the magic of world-class theatre on the big screen.

Art Screen Events offers a diverse lineup of local and international fine-art films, festivals, and special theatrical events across Tasmania.

In addition Katrine sits on the board of Independent Cinemas Australia (ICA) and is a member of the Screen Tasmania Expert Advisory Group, a panel appointed to advise the Minister for the Arts and Screen Tasmania on projects eligible for Screen Tasmania’s funding programes.
